Nathalie Cabrol is a planetary geologist and currently works as SETI Institute Principle Investigator at NASA Ames Research Center.   Her research focuses on aqueous environments favorable to life on Mars, their exploration (robotic and human) and the study of terrestrial analogs.  This past year she has served as a science team member on the NASA Mars Exploration Rovers Mission and has led a series of explorations to Earth's highest altitude lakes and ponds in Bolivia and Chile (Mars analogs) to investigate the survival of microorganisms in very high UV environments.
