Scott Sandford

Scott Sandford is a member of the Astrophysics Branch at NASA's Ames Research Center where he is a senior member of Ames' Astrochemistry Laboratory. He has extensive experience in the fields of infrared astronomy and spectroscopy, laboratory astrochemistry, and meteoritics. Currently, he is serving as the Principal Investigator (PI) for the MIDEX AstroBiology Explorer (ABE) and Origins Probe Astrobiology Space Infrared Explorer (ASPIRE) Concept Missions. In addition, he is a Co-Investigator on the Hayabusa Asteroid Sample Return Mission and the Stardust Discovery Mission, a mission that returned a cometary sample to Earth for study on January 15, 2006. Dr. Sandford also serves as an Associate Editor of the journal Meteoritics and Planetary Science.
