Mark Young is Professor in the Departments of Microbiology and Plant Sciences at Montana State University.
Part of his research utilizes viruses and other protein cage architectures as constrained reaction vessels for nanomaterials
synthesis with applications in medical and material sciences. His laboratory also has been successful in isolating and
characterizing a number of unique viruses from high temperature (>80°C) acidic environments (pH<3.0).
