NAI STUDENT POSTER COMPETITION

The NASA Astrobiology Institute (NAI) is pleased to once again be sponsoring the
Student Poster Competition at AbSciCon 2006. As with previous AbSciCon Meetings,
this event will provide motivation, encouragement, and most of all, recognition to
the most promising astrobiologists of the future.
There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place selections with awards of $1,000, $750 and $500 respectively.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Participants must be enrolled in a degree program at the time of abstract submission (selected students will be asked to sign a statement of eligibility)
- The award is intended primarily for students at the graduate level, however, individuals at the undergraduate level are also eligible to compete
- Postdoctoral students are NOT eligible
- Eligibility is open to both U.S. citizens and Non-U.S. citizens
Abstract Requirements:
- Only one abstract per student will be considered for an award
- The student must be the senior author of the abstract and the major contributor to the material presented, and the person presenting the poster
- The majority of the material should not have been previously presented at another meeting
Criteria for Selection:
- Originality of the research
- Quality of the execution
- Impact to the field
- Organization and clarity of presentation
Student Poster Display & Handling Information:
- Carry your poster to the conference since there are no shipping or receiving services available for this event
- Poster size should be approximately 36" H x 48" W. To display your poster, we will provide a sheet of foam core and pushpins
- Further instructions will be provided in this space as we get closer to the conference
